Dear clients, friends and peers,
It is with complex emotion we announce that we will be halting production for the foreseeable future and shutting down our studio. We are considering this move as a hibernation rather than a final ending.
Fuugs has been in business for 10 years building, dreaming, creating and producing in the great city of Philadelphia. We milled hundreds of trees, transformed them into furniture and made a lot of great connections along the way. We designed a furniture line and worked with FAIR Design in NYC and participated in ICFF 2024.
And now it’s time to change things up. We are certain we’ll return to this work, we can’t keep our noses out of design. But this iteration is coming to a close.
Small business is always hard. Slow-fashion, hand made, built to last, carbon negative; none of these fit well in the modern market, competing against multinational companies, designed obsolescence, monopolies, sweatshops, global supply chains and the vampirism of the billionaire class. We could talk for a long time about this, we know who our enemies are, and we salute all the other small businesses trying to get by with their souls intact through late stage capitalism.
Long story short we have some life goals we want to focus on and sadly we can’t keep doing this work alongside accomplishing those goals.
We are retaining our website and instagram to give periodic updates, please keep following along. Everything has its seasons, looking forward to what's next!
It’s been grand. We’re really proud of what we’ve accomplished and deeply grateful for the journey. Thank you so so much to everyone who has supported us over the years. We really have felt the love.
See you (for now),
Greg and Kristen

Fuugs is a small, sustainably dedicated, locally based, hand built wooden furniture company. We offer a catalog of beautiful, durable and sustainable designs to people ready to invest in an alternative to the disposable products of box stores. Since 2016 we have worked to create furniture that stands out both for its radical approach to material sourcing and for the artful design that blends aesthetic and functionality. Our material is reclaimed by us from urban trees that we save from the waste stream, sequestering carbon in our furniture to make all of our products truly carbon negative. The design comes from the minds of sculptors and partners in life and business, Greg Fuguet and Kristen Snow. Alumni of Tyler School of Art’s Sculpture program, they have honed their craft for a decade into furniture that changes how we engage with the world.
